Fun in the South of France

click here to see the photo album of our tripHello!
We've been very lax about posting to the blog, for a number of reasons: lots of travel and a certain amount of stress being the primary ones.

Since we last posted in early July, we've taken trips to: Normandy (think apples, cider, calvados, and lots and lots of excellent cheese), Holland, two weeks in Paris for me (Madeline) to take an intensive French class and try out the new municipal bike-rental service, to Guérande just south of Brittany where high-end sea salt is harvested, and a trip we just returned from to the Midi in southwestern France. Whew!

We also hosted my sister Ellen for ten days in August, and we just had our friends the Folsoms from Atlanta with us this past weekend. We've also taken a cue from the French and have been foraging for food in nature: we've learned how to fish for shellfish on the beach at low tide and have made dozens of jars of wild blackberry jam!

We may or may not get around to posting on our other trips, but for now have put together a web page on our trip to the Midi. Click here or on the photo to go to that page and find out why this woman is being chased by geese.

Our plans to return to the U.S.

We expect to be back in the U.S. in January. We'll leave here either at the end of December or early in January. We'll be returning to Atlanta temporarily while we visit the cities we're considering moving to: Chicago, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Philadelphia.

We'll keep you posted in the meantime. Thanks for your interest in our activities!

Yeah what about New York, we're the only ones on here trying to influence your decision.

I look forward to the Germany post.
